Nestled within the cosy shoplots in TTDI’s Jalan Burhanuddin Helmi neighbourhood, Oh Cha Matcha was conceptualised as a vibrant and trendy Matcha cafe serving daring concoctions of matcha food and beverages. Newcleus worked with Studio Wen to create an identity for Oh Cha Matcha, carrying the brand’s colours - Pastel Pink and Matcha Green throughout the Interior Design of the store.

Corrugated sheet and tile grout lines were used to define the architectural lines of the space, with pampas planters in strategic locations to provide softer corners.

The colour gradiations in Oh Cha’s matcha drinks inform some of the design elements here. Organic shapes and swirl lines were drawn into three arches by artist Nee Wong, framing the main dining space of the store. Timber strips at the storefront were painted in a descending pink tones, reflecting on the tiles of the storefront floor to provide an inviting gesture.
