'Komorebi'

‘Komorebi’ is a Ceiling Installation designed for Gamuda Gardens. Inspired by the natural surroundings of lake waters and clear skies, we sought to create an experiential piece that translates ‘Komorebi’, a Japanese term describing the effect of sunlight streaming through the leaves of trees.

We worked with local craftsmen and fabricators to customise these 10mm thick acrylic pieces, made by thermoforming them in high heat between two casts. The ripple-like effect was conceived within our team, with many prototypes done before concluding with the right intensity.
